“We, Reboot Interactive, are Bahçeşehir University Game Design Postgraduate Program Our journey, started when we first met at the school and joined Kod Ödülleri, continues today as we start developing our own games and the contributions that this competition made for us to be where we are now cannot be overstated. Kod Ödülleri, by providing these opportunities to independent developers such as us and by allowing us to focus our creativity and productivity on instructional games, paves the way for new developments in this field which has not received the due attention in both our country and the world, and invests in the education of the following generations. We would like to thank both Kod Ödülleri as well as its organizers for their contributions to education, software and technology and would like to state that we are proud to have received an award and their support.”
“This is a physics simulator, where the setting is a child’s dreams. Kağıt Makineler (Paper Machines); a 2 dimensional, physics based, instructional platform game. The player tries to progress by solving the puzzles based on physics knowledge. The levels are usually designed to hinder the progress of the player with obstacles and imbalanced objects. The player, in order to pass each level, must balance the objects or remove obstacles. The player solves the puzzles using the physics knowledge he/she learns during the course of the game.”

“I, Mehmet Can GÜLER, have graduated from Ege University, Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology in 2017. I work as a Computer Science teacher at İzmir Bilfen Private Science High School After the experience of participating Kod Ödülleri individually and unprepared the previous year while still pursuing my career education on Instructional Technologies, I and my Friend Halil Onur Yazıcıoğlu, who is a Graduate of ITU Department of Maritime Engineering, entered the competition quite eagerly with the game called “Bir Kimyagerin Macera Günlüğü” we have developed in our free times. In this period, the fact that a new emphasis was placed on instructional games which could represent the concept “digital” to Generation Zero students was a positive reinforcer. On behalf of both myself and my teammate, I would like to thank the Turkish Informatics Association, which places great emphasis on instructional games and learning via gaming concepts, and which provides great incentive in this regard…
The Chemist Korhan, the character we control in this game, is in a research team under United Nations. While traveling on a plane, due to an unfortunate accident, he becomes stranded in an uncharted, undiscovered forest. Korhan, who survives thanks to a parachute must reach the transmitter in the plane to send a message on accident and where they are. However, the parts that fell from the plane and the wilderness must overcome to fulfill this goal. Korhan will need to use his chemistry knowledge, and use various compounds to go through the obstacles. It will be possible to obtain different compounds by gathering them in the
world or by creating reactions between existing compounds. The game, with its level design gradually increasing in difficulty, while allowing to pass obstacle with feedback and tips at the earlier stages will provide much less tips and feedback at the later stages and therefore focus on teaching students. The game was developed based on Mayer’s Multimedia Principles, used widespread in creating multimedia materials in the field of instructional technologies. In addition to being able to pass obstacles by creating compounds, the students will also be
able to access information such as compounds’ presence in nature and other reactions.

“Hello, we are two students interested in game development, studying at Yıldız Technical University (Ege Bayrakdar, Fazlı Bozatay). Before anything, we would like to state that we are very proud to have been ranked in the top three in such a prestigious competition. The idea of learning while gaming is among the most enjoyable and effective learning methods for the generation born in this digital age. For example, anyone in our age group, when asked where they learned English, would tell you that he/she learned most of it in games. We thank, the employees of “Kod Ödülleri”, which strives to expand this field and provides support, and all who otherwise contributed. The children are the future of our country, we sincerely hope that such incentive competitions become more widespread and bring us forward as a country in the digital age.”
“While developing “Tesla’nın Sırları” (Secrets of Tesla), our aim was to immerse the students in the game and make learning both more entertaining and effective. Which is why we placed more emphasis on fiction side of the game. The players are expected to complete the track, defeat the opponent by answering as many of the questions correctly as possible and complete mini games, exclusive to each stage.”
